MY APARTMENT WAS NOT SCHEDULED FOR PEST CONTROL, PER THE COMPLEX
OFFICE.
I went to the complex office 6/17/2003 at Alta Woods Apartment Homes to complain their
maintenance man had sprayed a chemical in my apartment, while he was there.  I had
told them the chemical was causing discomfort, an allergic reaction sending me to the
hospital.  They began to cover for the maintenance man.  They communicated he had
no reason to spray anything in my apartment.  Covering the situation was all they were
concerned about.

I went to bed Wednesday,
6/18/2003 night and woke up at 3:00am Thursday morning.  I
had a strong chemical odor coming up out of my stomach, up my esophagus, up my
throat and into my sinus.  It was strong and I was about to faint.  I got myself together
and had rushed myself to the emergency room again.   They gave me a urine test and
sent me home.  I had to drag myself into work on Thursday.  I had no benefits, no
insurance, no sick pay or no personal time to take off.  No answers again and sent back
to that chemical smelly apartment.  The first Thursday,
6/19/2003 being in my apartment,
I was calling the office for a carpet cleaner.  They said I could have the carpets cleaned,
but I was going to have to pay.  After work, I rushed to their apartment office again.  I
communicated I had gone to the emergency room again the night before.

Nothing was done to help.  They stated the hospital cost would be mine.  They would not
pay one penny towards my medical bills.  I was living and sleeping with all windows and
porch sliding glass door open.  I had called 911 on
6/19/2003 to report a very bad
chemical was in my apartment causing major health distress to my body.  Dispatch sent
the fire department and one Woodstock policeman (Office deCocq's-Business Card
Shown).  Once inside my apartment the one police Officer deCocq said, “Guys, I do not
smell anything, do you?”  All the five or so firemen said no.  One by one, they each
sounded off a no.  They left my apartment leaving me with no help.  They left my
apartment lying and covering up the problem, too.  Right in my face, they began their
cover-up.

Their carpet cleaner was on the apartment grounds on Friday,
6/20/03 and they sent
him to clean my carpet.  I did pay for the cleaning like the office stated I had to do.

THE SAME CHEMICAL ODOR GOT WORSE & WORSE.  CARPET CLEANER DID NOT
SMELL AN ODOR, WHEN ASKED BY ME.
Friday, 6/20/2003 now 1 week in my secure new apartment, 2 visits to the hospital
emergency room and I am paying for the carpets to be cleaned.  They chemical in the
carpet got worse, or when I left to let the carpets dry the maintenance man came and
sprayed my carpet, again.  I had an even worse problem after the carpets were cleaned.
Saturday, 6/21/2003 morning, a little after mid-night I woke up and my heart beat
was slowing down.
I got up off my cot bed and just began to walk the floors.  After, a
few minutes my heart beat picked up.  I had three major issues my lungs and gasping for
air, the chemical odor in my body and now my heart beat slowing down.  I had told the
carpet cleaner that the maintenance crew sprayed something in the apartment.  The
small carpet contractor said his very large client’s apartment, 700-304 did not have an
odor.  On
7/9/2003 Pam Roberts orders the carpet removed, due to odor detected by
her supervisor of maintenance.  They said the carpet cleaner did something and my
cleaning the apartment put the odor in the apartment #700-304.  They replaced the
carpets in unit 700-304.

I was in the management apartment office begging on just my second Saturday,
6/21/2003 after moving in 6-13-2003 for another one bedroom apartment.  I clearly
communicated my life was surely on the line.  I was having extreme side effects.  I was
given a key to look at one apartment.

When I had moved, into that complex that is what management said, I had only one
apartment I could look at.  This complex had 400-500 apartment units.  I went to see the
next one and only apartment.  I told them I would take it right away.  I was told to wait until
Monday, when the manager was in.

Monday,
6/23/2003 I went to the office to see the manager.  With a lot of office delays,
hassle, I was crying and I was begging for another one bedroom unit.  Pam, the manager
agreed to give me another one bedroom apartment.  It was larger and I would have to
pay more, $676.00 now.  Frightened of the health damage done to my body, I had to
move.  The allergic reaction, or the just extreme caustic chemicals, I was having major
organ issues 24 to 48 hours apart.

The apartment manager gave me 500 Sycamore Lane #203, a larger unit.  Monday on
6/23/2003, I got a one night stay on the apartment grounds in a furnished corporate
rental unit.  On, Tuesday,
June 24, 2003  the 500 Sycamore Lane #203 would be ready
for me to move into.  I did move to apt. 500-203 on
6-24-2003 to 6-25-2003.

*$676.00 rent from paying 636.00 was not customer service (see letter to Pam
Roberts)
*Paying for the carpets to be cleaned was not customer service.

*No customer suffering consideration, or financial consideration was made by
the office.

FORMALDEHYDE- Potential Health Effects
(http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/F5522.htm)
"The perception of formaldehyde by odor and eye irritation becomes less sensitive with time as one
adapts to formaldehyde. This can lead to overexposure if a worker is relying on formaldehyde's warning
properties to alert him or her to the potential for exposure. "

Inhalation:(http://www.hvchemical.com/msds/form.htm)
"May cause sore throat, coughing, and shortness of breath. Causes irritation and sensitization of the
respiratory tract. Concentrations of 25 to 30 ppm cause severe respiratory tract injury leading to
pulmonary edema and pneumonitis. May be fatal in high concentrations."
"Ingestion:
Can cause severe abdominal pain, violent vomiting, headache, and diarrhea. Larger
doses may produce decreased body temperature, pain in the digestive tract, shallow
respiration, weak
irregular pulse, unconsciousness
and death. Methanol component affects the optic nerve and may
cause blindness.
Skin Contact:
Toxic. May cause irritation to skin with redness, pain, and possibly burns. Skin absorption may occur
with symptoms paralleling those from ingestion. Formaldehyde is a severe skin irritant and sensitizer.
Contact causes white discoloration, smarting, cracking and scaling.
Eye Contact:
Vapors cause irritation to the eyes with redness, pain, and blurred vision. Higher concentrations or
splashes may cause irreversible eye damage.
Chronic Exposure:
Frequent or prolonged exposure to formaldehyde may cause hypersensitivity leading to contact
dermatitis.
Repeated or prolonged skin contact with formaldehyde may cause an allergic reaction in
some people.
Vision impairment and enlargement of liver may occur from methanol component.
Formaldehyde is a suspected carcinogen (positive animal inhalation studies).
Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions:
Persons with pre-existing skin disorders or eye problems, or impaired liver, kidney or respiratory
function may be more susceptible to the effects of the substance.
Previously exposed persons may
have an allergic reaction to future exposures."

SORE
Several vomiting events to the
point of dehydration.  Every few
seconds, everything came up, until
body fluids was the only thing left.
It would still continue...I felt like a
firehydrant unscrewed to release a
surge of fast flowing water, but it
was my guts coming up hard & fast.
For several hours every single week.
