I HAD CALLED FOR MAINTENANCE ON 6/13/2003
I had moved from my studio apartment into a one bedroom
apartment. I got the keys for 700 Sycamore Lane #304 on Friday,
6/13/2003. I had moved myself, no boyfriend and no family to
help. Friday evening, I went to turn on my bedroom light and the
fan light fixture was disassembled. Six to eight wires were hanging
about 3 inches long out of this ceiling light fixture.

I had called the office management right before they had closed on
Friday, 6/13/2003 approximately 5:50pm. They said their
maintenance crew had gone home for the weekend and would
return on Monday. They would send someone to my apartment on
Monday to fix that ceiling lamp fixture. I did tell them the wires were
hanging from the ceiling. I had to wait until Monday. I had plenty of
moving stuff to do over the weekend.

I HAD CALLED FOR MAINTENANCE AGAIN ON 6/16/2003 –
EXPOSED WIRES GONE & STILL NO LIGHT.
Monday I went to work and had returned home to my one bedroom
apartment about 5:50pm. I had gone straight to my bedroom to flip
on the wall switch. The wires were gone, but the ceiling fan light
fixture did not work. There was a smell in my apartment. It smelled
of chemicals, but at first I had thought the maintenance man was
just dirty and I was possibly his last repair call for the day. No wires
visible and no light working in my bedroom. That was indication
number two; please call for me the maintenance man. I had to call
again. No light in my room. I gave the office another call before
they closed for the day. Again they had promised me, a repair
man would come by and fix the ceiling fixture. I did tell the lady
over the phone the wires were gone, but the light still did not work.
The office staff again said the maintenance crew had gone home
and Tuesday they would get someone out to fix that ceiling fixture.

June 17, 2003 at work in an air conditioned building, I began to
gasp for air. I could not breathe. It took a few seconds, before that
gasping stopped. It felt like it was not going to stop. That was very
frightening. That gasping for air had never happened before. I
knew I had a problem of smelling a chemical in my apartment. I
went to the office manager on duty and requested to go to the
emergency room of a hospital. They had agreed and sent a lady
from the office with me to the hospital. I got released with as
asthma inhaler prescription, only. I did not have asthma and
nobody in my family had asthma. The chemical in my apartment
was extremely bothersome and all the windows were open.

I went to work on Tuesday, 6/17/2003 I got back to my apartment
about the same, as Monday evening. Now the chemical odor was
worse. I went to my bedroom and flipped the wall switch, again.
The ceiling fan light fixture was working intermittent, or like a short.
I was upset by this time. A strong chemical is in my apartment and
the maintenance man did not want the light to work properly. The
maintenance man created another problem. A chemical was
sprayed into my apartment.
